Vernon Fox is resigned, Thomas and Sellers Extended
According to Redskins.com Vernon Fox, a key contributor to special teams and the defense last year, was resigned today. Also the Redskins announced extensions for Mike Sellers and Randy Thomas.
This is good news if nothing more then rewarding people who played well last year and contributed. Vernon Fox is an average NFL safety but is a key contributor on special teams. Mike Sellers is our starting full back and has a mean nasty streak when opening up running lanes for Portis and Betts. Randy Thomas has been our most consistent lineman over the past three years.
The Redskins did not release details of any of the contracts but could the extensions be part of further cap space clearing to resign Dockery, and pay for London Fletcher, Fred Smoot, and/or Nate Clements? One thing is for sure the Redskins will hit the ground running this weekend as Fletcher and SMoot are rumored to be in DC at this very moment.
